FAQ's
Q. With my busy schedule I just don't have the time to cook healthy meals for my family! So how can I save time?
A. This one is answered on the Busy Professionals page in detail with some TnT's.
Q. Al I've been cooking for some time now but feel there is just too much I don't get. So where is the best place to start and learn to do it right??
A.Well right here Lil. Actually for starters there is a base foundation that is first taught in cooking school that pretty much all cooking is based on. That is to learn to make stocks. But for the home cook, a good actual cook book, not a recipe book, but an actual cook book like the one I use should be your bible. Mine is "Practical Cookery" by Ceserani & Kinton. But, here is a good place to! I started this site because of all the questions I got while working at the Niagara Falls casino, where the whole world came. So now CookingClass101 is where the world can come!
Q.I followed the recipe I was making to the "T" and it still didn't turn out, WHY???
A. Good One! This is a bit tricky. For an analogy; if you try and make a bird house from a kit, following the instruction sheet, BUT don't have any woodworking skills, the best your going to get is the best you can do.Also there are a lot of factors involved as well, such as heating type, gas or electric, equipment your using, where you stand or are at from sea level, dry or humid area, winter or summer time. The end result is always as varied and individual as the one making it. But isn't that what cooking & recipes are about? Taking something and making it your own!
Q. Why are you only recommending Amazon.com cooking products??
A.Well in the year of research done prior to opening the doors on this long time dream we found that Amazon is one of the most trusted, trustworthy companies out there to do business with. Now I'm not saying that there is not other good ones, but Amazon has a great product variety, prices and service. With those three things, it just kind of falls into place.
